Question
What Security measures are taken to build a hydroelectric, to be friendly to the
environment and health of people?
Objectives
· Discover new means by which to carry out a hydro healthier for the environment.
· Identify a hydroelectric plant damage done to the environment and people.
· To be able to know if several mini hydro are friendlier to the environment
IntroductionWater is one of the most used natural resources for energy production, due to its
easy access and economics of it. In its liquid form, water is used to generate
electricity through the use of hydraulic turbines, which convert hydraulic
energy into mechanical energy is used to turn electric generators work. Most
electrical energy used in the world is generated in large hydro, which make use
of the river water contained in dams, which are artificial barriers which
stores and controls the flow of the waters of way to have permanent
availability of the energy from them. The aim of this paper is to design a
hydroelectric plant in the 145 MW generated. This will select the river in
which to install the plant as well as turbines and flow rate used.
Theoretical Framework
Hydroelectric plants are not friendly to the environment as it destroys ecosystems under
water, how can we reduce the environmental damage? One of the solutions that
come to mind is to build several mini-hydro, as not being a dam, and be several
mini-hydro do not need high costs or complete technical studies are needed.
Each mini hydro can serve as a source of energy in a home or even a town.
